Nike named the No.1 Most Innovative company of 2013

Nike has 44,000 employees but continues to disrupt the marketplace with game-changing product innovations, which have implications to consumer services, technology and the supply chain.

FuelBand is an electronic bracelet that tracks the consumers movements throughout the day - to ensure they are hitting daily activity goals.  Its accessible to everyone, tracking movements from walking from your car to the office, through to your run.  “Nike has broken out of apparel and into tech, data and services, which is so hard for any company to do,” says Sarah Rotman Epps.

Flyknit Racer is the second breakthrough innovation Nike released in 2012.  The shoe is created from knitting, like a sock on top of a rubber sole, instead of a cutting pieces of fabric and sewing them together.  The manufacturing process reduces waste, and long-term supply chain costs.
